Mr. Andrew Crawford
Faculty Sponsor

Mr. Andrew Crawford currently teaches IB Literature and IB Theory of Knowledge in the Upper School at TAS. Although these are unlikely credentials for a TAS faculty sponsor of NOVA, he is nonetheless excited to be working with a passionate and driven group of students who aim to put together an exciting and rewarding event that will allow participants to engage in creative, purposeful entrepreneurship and problem-solving.

Ms. Connie Ma
Faculty Sponsor

Ms. Connie Ma is the Taipei American School Alumni and Community Outreach Officer. Ms. Ma earned her bachelor’s in sociology from the University of Chicago and her master’s in public policy from Duke University. Throughout her career, she has worked in development and fundraising, STEM education and college access, non-profit consulting and evaluation, and educational social enterprises. She is currently responsible for the TAS Alumni Office, where she keeps more than 12,000 alumni engaged with the school by organizing in-person and virtual events, creating monthly communications and articles, administering the TAS Alumni website, and much more. In her spare time, Ms. Ma enjoys biking, photography, crochet, and reading books by the dozen.

Derrick Yang
Co-President

Derrick Yang is a senior at Taipei American School serving as the Co-President of NOVA this year. As someone with a keen interest in logistics, organizing, and planning events, he is very excited to see NOVA come together, and is honored to be part of the team. He hopes that through NOVA, participants will be able to meet people with similar interests, develop entrepreneurship skills, and be inspired to make an impact with their inspirations and actions.

Carryll Lee
Co-President

Carryll Lee is the Co-President of NOVA and a current senior at Taipei American School. She has always been interested in business and STEM related fields and enjoys participating in related activities. NOVA allows her to expand her knowledge in business and entrepreneurship with brainstorming and creative presentations. She can’t wait to engage in this event and help others find their passion for business.

Avery Hsu
Vice President

Avery Hsu is the Vice President for Nova and is a senior at Taipei American School. He is really interested in STEM and entrepreneurship related activities. He hopes that through organizing this year’s NOVA event he can further develop his interest in business. He can’t wait to see all the amazing ideas that will be presented this year and is really honored to be on the team.

Jenesse Lo
Director of Marketing and Technology

Jenesse Lo is a senior at Taipei American School serving as NOVA's Director of Marketing and Technology this year. She is pasionate in any business, entrpreneurship related events and had been a participant of NOVA. She is really honored to be in the leadership team this year and hopes that through leading NOVA, she can further explore her interest and utilizes this oppurtunity to learn from people with similar goals.

Natalie Wu
Director of Operations

Natalie Wu is the Director of Operations of NOVA and is a sophmore at Taipei American School. She is interested in developing innovative ideas and looks forward to fostering her organizational skills by planning events for NOVA. She enjoys meeting new people and she wishes that, through NOVA, she’s able to build strong connections with the participants and further develop her entrepreneurship skills. She’s very excited to be apart of the team.

William Feung
Director of Judging and Mentoring

William is the Director of Judging and Mentoring and is currently a Sophomore at Taipei American School. He has been surrounded by many experts and entrepreneurs in the technology industry, developing a growing interest in business over time. NOVA provides him with an opportunity to be more directly involved in the art of entrepreneurship and business. He hopes that through NOVA, students will develop a similar passion for business and gain entrepreneurial skills valuable in many facets of life.

Phoebe Hsu
Director of Operations

Phoebe Hsu is the Director of Operations of NOVA and is a sophomore at Taipei American School. She is enthusiastic about brainstorming and expanding ideas on entrepreneurship while fostering positive competition through organizing the event. During the competition, she hopes to meet new people and further develop her passion on entrepreneurship. In the meanwhile, she can’t wait to work with the rest of the team to plan a successful event.

Mia Lee
Director of Marketing and Technology

Mia Lee is the Director of Marketing and Technology of NOVA and is a junior at Taipei American School. She is interested in developing her passion for business and innovation and looks forward to learning from professionals in the field. Mia hopes that through NOVA, participants will be able to explore their interests in entrepreneurship and learn from one another. She is very excited to meet everyone!
